Blue Orchid is celebrating their 11th year performing at the Jazz Café! The band delivers everything from Swing, to Blues, to Bossa Nova. They are noted for playing re-imagined Jazz standards and creative original compositions with Myrick Crampton on sax and flute; Ayinde Williams on keyboards; Kyffin Salter on bass, and drummer Patrick Zampetti.

JJazz and Blues vocalist Lady E is back by popular demand! Lady is fronting TWO bands! First, she has a little big band that is sure to raise the roof with Donald Crawford on keyboards; Mike Hoggard on drums; Todd Ellsworth on bass; Freddie Lau and Rahib Amin on guitar; Jake Larson on congas; Chris Malifani on sax; Mark Ingraham and Rolando Jordan on trumpet; Frank Nelson and RVA legend Dr. Ralph Branch on baritone sax and Isaiah Williams on trombone. The next set will feature Lady with “The Blues Rev-A” Band with Mary Elfner on drums; Caroline Hill on bass; Marissa Resmini on violin; Paul Bland on keys; Christian LeMay, Kevin Kuza and Dave Clement on guitars.

Daniel Clarke, Brian Caputo and Andrew Randazzo are familiar names on the Virginia music scene. Individually, they have performed with regional and national artists from every genre including John D’earth, Jason Mraz, Keb’ Mo’ and RVA’s award winning group, Butcher Brown. For Jazz Café the trio will present their modern improvisations on popular tunes of yesterday and today with Daniel Clarke on piano; Brian Caputo on drums and Andrew Randazzo on bass.

Jazz Café welcomes Dreamroot, a Jazz and R&B trio originally hailing from Durham, NC. They have performed extensively at venues and festivals along the East Coast including appearances at the DC Jazz Festival, North Carolina Museum of Art and, a live concert aired on PBS. The trio features Theous Jones on drums, Ittai Korman on bass and keyboardist Joe MacPhail.
