You’re invited to a community conversation about future visitor experiences at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
To prepare for an upcoming expansion project, VMFA is conducting a third round of two-way discussion groups led by the museum’s Community Engagement for Museum Expansion (CEME).
Additions and renovations, tentatively scheduled to be completed in 2027 by international architecture firm SmithGroup, will enhance the visitor experience. The project is, at its core, an expansion of storytelling. VMFA looks forward to sharing more art, welcoming more visitors, and providing an enjoyable, seamless journey through exhibitions and permanent collections.
It all begins with you—the visitors. We want you to see yourselves reflected in the art, in the space, and in the planning. To that end, we continue gathering community feedback and invite you to participate.
Participants receive the following:
-snacks and beverages
-20% discount at Best Café, Amuse Restaurant, or VMFA Shop
-two VIP exhibition passes to Samurai Armor from the Collection of Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller, opening Apr 20, 2024
